The Port and Starboard 18's both finish on this huge, double green. Both finishing holes are long par 5's along the lake and it is conceivable that one could have a first putt of nearly 300 feet.

harborside_collageJust 16 minutes south of downtown Chicago, two world-class 18-hole golf courses and a 57-acre practice facility stand together amidst an aging industrial area. Built on the City of Chicago's former disposal site for municipal solid waste, incinerator ash, waste water sludge, and construction debris, Harborside International Golf Center is now 458 acres of treeless, wind-swept golf, reminiscent of Scotland and Ireland's great seaside links courses.

ServiScape became involved in the development of Harborside in 1992 as the landscape, agronomic, and irrigation consultant during development and construction and has managed the course and grounds maintenance ever since. The Port 18 was opened in 1995, the Starboard 18 was opened in 1996, and the magnificent 24,000 sq. ft. prairie-style clubhouse was completed in 1999. During the PGA's most recent tour stop at Harborside, Ben Crenshaw compared Harborside to Muirfield in Scotland, a British Open venue and currently ranked #3 in the world by Golf Magazine.

Harborside has already been recognized as one of the premier public access golf facilities in the United States and has hosted a number of PGA and USGA events, including the 2002 SBC Senior Open.
