The 1st & 18th fairways from the 1st tee.
Long Beach Country Club was our first golf course maintenance contract and helped "send us on our way" in the golf management business.
The Long Beach course was opened for play in the spring of 1922 and has retained (with very few exceptions) its original routing and tee and green locations. Carved out of the sand dunes next to Lake Michigan, it is one of the most beautiful and challenging 6,542-yard golf courses anywhere. Around 1920, the owners of the Long Beach Company, developers of the Long Beach community, hired Dr. William Hall to create the routing for the Long Beach golf course. It is believed Dr. Hall supervised the course construction during 1920 and 1921. The early history of the club is otherwise very sketchy as all club records went up in smoke in the fire that destroyed the clubhouse in 1935.
ServiScape is proud to have been part of the Long Beach's ongoing growth and success. We continue to implement the nearly completed Dr. Michael Hurdzan restoration and improvements plan.
