  • A large island in the middle of the course is home to 3 greens and 2 sets of tees.
  • Originally designed and opened in the 1920's.

MacArthur Golf Course is one of the best 'short courses' you will play. Do not let this course fool you. The greens are receptive but a ball landing close to the edges will roll into the rough'a la Donald Ross.

MacArthur Golf Course has been an activity staple for the East Chicago community since the 1920's. This course is ripe with mature majestic trees and a large lake, which creates a mote that must be navigated to safely reach 5 greens.

ServiScape was hired in 2007 to manage the reconstruction/rejuvenation of MacArthur Golf Course. The property had been abandoned and completely devoid of any resemblance of a golf course. The greens, tees, and bunkers were rebuilt to breath life back into this historic course, which had been closed for almost 10 years. A new irrigation system was installed and a substantial tree management plan was implemented to enhance and frame the golf holes. Today MacArthur Golf Course is a thriving golf course thanks to the vision of the East Chicago city officials and the successful management from the ServiScape team.
